A Thrifty TV Buffet and a Giveaway
Don’t forget to leave a comment on this post to sign up for our Casa Petrie giveaway!
When we moved into our home, we brought with us a faux-pine Walmart tv cabinet. It did the job, but was so wrong for the design direction we were headed. I was very inspired by the sideboards/buffets designers were using for entertainment centers, but I couldn’t find one that I thought was a reasonable price. At an “antique mall” I found this beauty. The price was originally $200, but we paid $100. It is so sturdy and holds so much stuff (we actually keep all our non-daily kitchen appliances in there).

PS…I just love your blog design!!! Do you mind me asking where you got the design? Is it something that you did yourself? It’s lovely!!!
Beautiful piece and wonderful price. I never thought to use a buffet like this before…great idea!
GREAT FIND AND PRICE.YOU DID A GREAT JOB…ANN
When I started reading I thought “wow, that’s from Walmart? It’s really nice!” until I read a little further.
Great piece and nice price! Thanks for joining TST.
(Like Chari, I have admired your blog design and wondered where it came from. Do tell!)
i want to enter your giveaway also.
GREAT find! We did the same thing for our TV when we moved — it took awhile, but I found an old buffet/sideboard for $100 on Craigslist. It’s perfect — lots of storage and plenty of strength!
Good post, thanks! Just shows there’s no need to buy “new” when there are so many good things just waiting to be recycled.

I like your new furniture piece. LUCKY YOU!!
Have a good day.

That is a great piece of furniture. My mother has an old dining room side board her bedroom and a chest of drawers in her den. I guess we believe in using furniture in different ways too
Great find! I love antique malls for that very reason!
It is a wonderful relaxation and a source of pride for me to browse Mrs Petrie’s Blog. I was catching up on at least 10 days of activities of Casa Petrie and as usual there was non stop action and lots of new goodies. Hat’s off (that is, knit caps) to Mr Petrie on his great knitting articles. Everything looks bright, warm and well made. Again I learned something I did not know about my family.
I will be visiting the Petrie family soon and look forward to seeing alot of what is on the site in person, if all works out.
Love your find. Wonderful deal, and so much better than the typical buy and put together entertainment center.
Look forward to looking around your blog more.
