Frugal Things I Did Last Week

I really work hard to make choices that use what we have and if we spend money, use that money wisely.  Here are some frugal choices I made last week.

We made all of our meals at home this week.  No restaurant food for us!

We visited friends at their new house.  They made us lunch.

I gave myself and Miss Petrie pedicures.

We ate from the garden.

I bought storage bags at Walgreens this week ($1/package).  I bought 5 packages.  This is my stock-up price.

We met friends at the park for a morning playdate.

I did not shop for groceries.  I will go this week because we need some staples, but I know that I have saved money by not hitting the store for odds and ends.

I have been researching homemade cleaning solutions, which can be very inexpensive for the large amounts made.  (One of the reasons I want to do this is that my little Miss PD is a Curious George and gets into everything and loves to put unknown things into her mouth.  Yeah.  So, I figure if I use stuff like vinegar and essential oils, it might not taste good to her, but I won’t have to call Poison Control if she gets into it.)

We had friends come over for a playdate.  I made lunch and Rice Krispy treats for dessert.

I checked out two books from the library on easy freezer meals.  Freezer meals act as fast food for us.  They help me to resist getting take-out when I don’t want to cook.  I am trying to prep extra freezer meals for the beginning of school, since we will be so busy.

I made 5 containers of pesto from our garden basil and froze them.  If I continue to do this every couple of weeks until the end of October, we will have basil for the next 6-9 months.

Any frugal advice for me?  I’m constantly re-evaluating where we can reasonably save. :)
