Apple Walnut Pancakes

Breakfast is one of the most inexpensive meals to make.  This past Sunday I made us apple walnut pancakes, turkey bacon and fresh whipped cream.  Remember that I said most of the meals we make cost about $1.25 per serving or $5 for the entire meal?  Here’s a cost breakdown of this meal.

  • pancakes (2 cups mix, walnuts and 2 apples)- $1.50
  • turkey bacon- $1/pack (on sale, of course)
  • cream for whipping- $1.75 (we only used half of the amount made)
  • Total: $4.25 or $1.06 per serving

I can’ t wait until the garden starts producing zucchini and we can eat zucchini muffins, bread and pancakes.  The plants are starting to produce flowers, which is beginning of the zucchini growth.

I hope you are having a great day.

The pancakes look delicious. When the zucchini is ready you need to saute a little up and add a couple of scrambles eggs!! It’s delicious!!
