Books + Exercise = Good
Recently, we tried Audible to see if I might enjoy listening to books while I did mundane tasks like driving or cleaning. Wow, how much more fun is it to do something boring while listening to something great??
That takes me to the task that I generally dread more than cleaning bathrooms: exercise. I know, I know, exercise is wonderful, but it has never really been my thing. One day, I reluctantly walked around a track while Miss Petrie rode her bike and I listened to a book… and without becoming bored I had walked two miles. It’s a start.
The Audible subscription we ordered gets me two books a month. I ordered J.R. Ward’s Lover Unleashed and Richelle Mead’s Iron Crowned. Both are books from series that I like. The reading of the books was a little melodramatic at times, but generally I could move past that and enjoy the story.
I’m also trying the audio books offered by the Albuquerque library system. There are not as many options, but they are free. I have 10 days to listen to a book, then it disappears from my iPhone (you can also use a computer, mp3 player, iPod, or iPad). The program used isn’t as easy as Audible, but I did find one book series I have been interested in reading/listening to for awhile.
An Audible subscription is more than I usually pay for books, but it is much cheaper than a gym membership! Book uses never cease to amaze me.
Have a great Monday.

I LOVE Audible. Love to listen to books on the iPod. I’ve went to the library and burned cd’s to my iTunes and then listened…:)
