The Lighting of Casa Petrie

Thank you to Nesting Place for hosting Lampapalooza.

When we moved into our house, we undertook the task of replacing all of the lighting.  We also needed lots of lamps as two of the bedrooms do not have overhead lighting.  I’m pleased by the cohesive look of the lighting.

This fixture is in our entrance. I love the art deco lines.

This lamp is in our living room. There are two of them. They were a deal ($17) at Target a few years ago. The pole is covered in chocolate leather with white stitching.

When we purchased our house, the kitchen had a bare bulb!! We replaced it with this track.

Even though we live in New Mexico, I did not appreciate the adobe colored monstrosity that hung here before. Did I mention my good husband installed all of our lighting?

There was no fixture in the hallway and Mr. Petrie installed this awesome gallery-style fixture.

I got the base for this lamp (and its mate) on super sale. But then I could not find a shade that fit it! Ugh. Finally, I found a shade I liked a year later.

There are a pair of these sweet little lamps in Miss Petrie's room.

I have two of these lamps flanking our bed. They are my absolute favorite lamps. I waited for several months to get them.

These pendants hang in our library. We got them at a fancy lighting store when they had a fabulous sale.

You have beautiful and cool lamps. The one in the corner is a face. I guess the wall colors adds to its appeal :-) Love how you make it two-toned.

    Good Morning,

Lamps and lighting – my favorite subject! If you ever need a shade again, check w/me – I can get nearly every size for you. Those bases are fabulous, and that gallery lighting to die for! Great article.

It’s been a very challenging week here at MaidenShade. Working through blog issues, thinking of possible posts – and rueing the fact I’m not visiting everyone. Please, don’t forget about me; )

Today’s post is on some basics of HTML just in case that is something you’re interested in. It does come in handy for working in blog posts, webpages, and listings if you have a store.

Whoa, who knew what a statement little ole lamps could make! Beautiful. Hey, you didn’t post yesterday and I nearly had a heart attack. Don’t do that to me! : )
I have relatives that live in Southern AZ and I think they believe they HAVE to have something southwestern or adobe in their house…? They all do!

    Hello Mrs. Petrie,
I saw a comment you left on a blog so came over to say hi. My favorite cousin is also a Mrs. Petrie. I love your choice in lighting, very nice indeed! ~Cathy~
