Navel Gazing

I’ve been feeling yucky the last few hours.  I’m contemplating going to class tonight if I start to feel better.   What is making me feel better is watching my belly!  I’m finally able to not only feel the little one moving around, but now I can see my belly jerking in response to her [...]

Additional Storage for Baby

Thanks to Between Naps On The Porch for hosting Metamorphosis Monday. With the arrival of Baby Girl Petrie this winter, we really needed to figure out additional storage in Miss Petrie’s room for all the incoming baby things.  Our girls will be sharing a room eventually, but for now, the room needs to hold baby stuff and [...]

Cucumber Salad

I pulled some ginormous cucumbers off of the vine this past week.   I made a Greek-inspired salad with cucumbers, pear tomatoes from the garden, onion and feta cheese.   We also have some bush beans (string beans) that we need to eat soon.  They are quite delicious steamed or grilled. New Mexico had a [...]

There is some exciting news I wanted to share with our Casa Petrie friends.  We are expecting a baby girl this winter!  We found out the gender, because, frankly, we are planners and need to know what to expect.  We went to one of the coolest children’s boutiques in Albuquerque and got the little one [...]

Cute Animals in ABQ

I used linen and denim circles [...]

We have a narrow wall in our dining/kitchen/living room area and I had yet to decorate it.  I really wanted to wait until I had something interesting and personal to put up on this wall.   I collected pictures from around the house.  Most were in [...]

Thank You: Two Blog Awards

Thank you to Mimi from the blog Living In France for these two awesome awards! Here’s how this one works: USE ONLY ONE WORD! It’s not as easy as you might think. Copy and change the answers to suit you and pass it on. It’s really hard to use only one-word answers! 1. Where is [...]

The Fruits (or Eggplants) of Our Labor

We planted eggplant this season and two were finally ready to eat.  Mr. Petrie made these two cuties into eggplant parmesan and it was delicious!   Have a restful Labor Day.
