I Scored on Cheap Veggies

Miss Petrie goes to school in an industrial/transitional area of Albuquerque.  It contains lots of businesses and one of the places I frequent near her school is a produce store that gets overstock from major retailers like Target.  Last week I scored veggie platters for $1.99 (usually $13!!), a bag of onions for $0.99 and [...]

Holiday Stock-Up Reminder

Before and after the holidays is a great time to stock-up on seasonal items.  Sales were great for these items: a dozen eggs for $1 (regularly $1.65/dozen) 1 pound of butter for $1.66 (regularly $2.75/pound) Philly Cream Cheese for $1 per brick (regularly $2.50/brick). I bought 2 dozen eggs, 6 pounds of butter and 10 [...]

Killer Deals on Baking Supplies

I made a killing on baking supplies at Walgreens this week.  Chocolate chips for $.84, marshmallow fluff for $.47, cheesecake mix for $.94, cornstarch for $.24.  Chocolate chips are usually about $3 a package, so this price was about 75% off. The chocolate chips should last us most of the year. Have a great week.

My Awesome Thrift Store Purse

I’ve been looking for a high quality leather purse with an over-the-shoulder strap.  I knew I would find one at a thrift store if I was patient.  And last week, I scored!  I found this dark brown Coach bag. Did I ever show you the pillows I confiscated from my parents’ house? The blanket under [...]

Old Navy Grab Bag

I’ve been collecting school clothes for Miss Petrie, who is about to enter kindergarten.  A couple of weeks ago, Old Navy sold large paper bags filled with 8 shirts for $20.  The catch was that you didn’t know what you were getting until you purchased it.  Luckily, we thought we got great stuff!  Take a [...]

Snacks for Cheap

I must have been hungry when I hit Walgreens to pick up my free allergy pills.  These items were on clearance and I had a coupon for the cereal (also on clearance).  Total price: $3.74. Have a great day.

Save $ On Produce Without Coupons

We save money on produce by growing some of our food in the summer.  But, we don’t live on a farm…so we have to find alternate ways of purchasing fruit and vegetables at a reasonable price.  During farmers market season, we get great deals on local produce.  But, I must admit, I have a new [...]

My Latest Wags+CVS Trip

A new CVS opened up in our neighborhood and they sent fabulous coupons to everyone in the ‘hood.  I also hit a good sale at Walgreens (Wags).  And to make those sales sweeter, I utilized coupons to further reduce my prices. I earned $7 Extra Care Bucks (ECB) to spend at CVS in the next [...]

Best Shopping Trip So Far

Last week I had my best shopping trip to date!  I stopped by Albertsons for some of their sale items and happened upon a cart of clearance makeup.  Albertsons regularly has excellent clearance deals.  And they are always super nice about taking my coupons, so I am happy to shop there. Here were my deals: [...]

How To Return An Appliance

This is the new coffeemaker that arrived in the mail today.  I had purchased a coffeemaker in December.  It was our first coffeemaker in about 2 years.  I had waited for a good deal and a gift card.  In early March, the coffeemaker began to turn itself on and the hot plate began to run [...]
