Casa Petrie

Miss Petrie, Clowns, and Dr. Crusher

June17

I love this outfit my mom sent to Miss Petrie for her summer preschool program.

After school, we went to a party for our little friend Lily.  Her mom hired a clown.  The clown was an incredible face painter!

I once knew a man who dated Gates McFadden, who played Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation.

Apparently, Gates attended clown college in Paris.  I never quite felt the same way about clowns after I knew there were specialized colleges for their training.

My dad used to make us all sit quietly and watch Star Trek: TNG every Saturday evening.  My parents wanted to make sure that we were well-versed in all things nerdy.

Have a great stardate!

Fun!  A surprise recipe linky party at The Shabby Chic Cottage.  Thanks for visiting.

I volunteered at Miss Petrie’s preschool and was responsible for taking the snacks.  I took mini banana muffins, apple slices and chocolate milk.  Guess what kids ate the least of?  Hehe.  Of course I had a bag of sliced apples left over, so when I got home I thought I’d make an apple crisp.  Mr. Petrie’s mom shared her recipe with us and it is so easy and very delicious.

Apple Crisp

4 or 5 apples, 1/2 cup of butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup instant outmeal, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg

Peel and slice apples.  Place in a greased baking dish.  Cut butter into flour and oatmeal.  Add sugar.  Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over apples and cover with topping.  Sprinkle with cinnamon.  Cook at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.  Reduce oven to 350 degrees and cook for 20 minutes.  Enjoy!

We didn’t even wait to dig in before I took a picture.

I made some strong coffee to pair with the crisp.  And I had heavy cream left over from the risotto, so the coffee had a really creamy, delicious taste.  Decadent.

We laid waste to the coffee, too.

And we watched an episode of this Beatles documentary.

Miss Petrie says her favorite Beatle is Ringo.

Have a great week!

True Blood Is Back

trueblood

I’m a huge fan of the Southern Vampire books by Charlaine Harris.  True Blood is the show that is based on her books.  Sunday night was the second season premiere on HBO! So, sorry to make this short, but I’ve got a show to watch!!
